Spring Showcase, April 19-26, 2012

Year-End Giving

We hope that you remember SDAFF during the holidays in one of two ways:

  1. Give the gift of film this holiday season with a membership for a friend or family member.
  2. Remember SDAFF on your holiday gift list by supporting our Community Programs Fund.

Community Programs Fund

While SDAFF is best known for its annual festival, our other year-round programs continue to grow. Three programs (listed below) remain underfunded for 2012, and we need your help to close a $40,000 gap. Could you make a tax-deductible donation as a gift to SDAFF by the end of the year?

Reel Voices
A filmmaking "bootcamp," Reel Voices targets disadvantaged high school students who learn to become socially conscious storytellers. The program offers hands-on experience in all stages of production and one-on-one mentorship with professional filmmakers.
Spring Showcase
Fueled by the growing demand and curiosity in Asian and Asian-American cinema, the Spring Showcase offers an 8-day exhibition of films that thrill, entertain, and move.
Quarterly Screenings
Every quarter we present a film that can only exist outside of the festival setting - perhaps with a guest lecture, in conjunction with a museum or other city event, or during a special ethnic holiday. These screenings expand our programming beyond into communities we might not normally reach.

We are 75% to our goal of $40,000! Thanks to everyone who has donated so far. And it's not too late to help us reach our target by 12/31/11.

As of 12/20/11
• Mail-in and Online Donations: $5,400
• Give Big San Diego: $25,000*
• Total: $30,400

* Give Big San Diego match currently being calculated

How to Donate

You can donate by credit card online at the above link, send us a check, or even transfer stocks. No donation is too small, and all donations are tax-deductible. Tax ID: 33-1001523. Contact us at 619-400-5911 or email donate[at]sdaff[dot]org.

Where Does the Money Go?

From subsidizing tickets for students and seniors, our Reel Voices scholarships, to printing costs and shipping fees, we wanted to give you a look at a breakdown of some of our annual expenses. Hopefully, this list will help you prioritize your level of giving. See a list of our expenses.

Our Commitment

The SDAFF is committed to presenting rich stories and excellent programs that are fresh, relevant, and strengthen the community. We believe in creating a compassionate and cultured society through the universal language of film.
